Depending on tide and wind, we can get to Isle of Wight and anchor at Osborne Bay for lunch.
This is where Queen Victoria paddled. A fairly sheltered anchorage but with no access to the shore. More of a floating picnic spot where you can watch the world sail by.
Very popular for lunch stops, a swim, afternoon tea or simply for relaxing while moored, Osborne Bay is a peaceful location with the only direct views of the main facade of Osborne House - Built in the style of an Italian villa, Osborne House was the much-loved home of Queen Victoria and her family, a residence which afforded them some privacy and seclusion from public life. With sweeping views of the eastern Solent towards Portsmouth harbour with its iconic Spinnaker Tower and the huge stone and iron-clad Napoleonic Forts, Osborne Bay is always a favourite anchorage spot.
If there is time, we will take a quick trip through Cowes, the centre of British Yachting.
